Life has been crazy busy lately both professionally and personally. I was tired of feeling stressed and sat down to make a to-do list to get all the tasks floating around in my head down on paper. I easily filled up two full pages in my notebook, but felt relieved almost instantly, no longer needing to worry about remembering the list. Many of the tasks are good things, so I can’t totally complain. Lots of exciting projects to come – but ones that require work nonetheless.
With so much going on during the week, I can’t help but want to take it easy and be casual on the weekends. This romper was the result of feeling lazy and wanting to be comfortable.
I am so looking forward to warm weather starting tomorrow, a low-key Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and a holiday weekend.
Jumper: Free People, wedges: Marni, bag: Rebecca Minkoff.
After starting a new job last week, all I wanted was a low-key weekend. I did some organizing and catching up on things around the apartment before heading to the beach on Saturday. One of my best friends just moved back to L.A. after living in New York for a year, so I spent the day with her.
The post-Labor Day beaches were free of crowds. Our group laid out under umbrellas and played beach volleyball. I spent a lot of time playing with the dogs – two french bulldogs and a puppy boxer (so adorable!). My friend was quick to remind me how grateful we should feel to live in a place where we can go to the beach in September in beautiful weather (I think she’s done with NYC for good).
I have worn this outfit quite a bit lately. It feels like the perfect mix of comfy, cool and cute – appropriate for any occasion. The ensemble was ideal for my week off when I was walking around, shopping and meeting up with friends and family to go out for lunch and dinner/drinks.
Peplum top and python jeans: H&M, gemstone necklace (also worn as headband): c/o Spike the Punch, flats: Aldo, rings: Gorjana (similar), purse strap: Rebecca Minkoff.
I’m currently crushing on chiquita banana-inspired clothing and accessories. Accessories featuring fun, quirky embellishments and clothing with bright, fruit or floral prints like these have been on my radar.
Raffia clutch: Rebecca Minkoff, tucan necklace: Betsey Johnson, lime floral midi dress: Asos, fruit rings: Topshop, pom pom heels: Asos, lace shorts: H&M, fruit blouse: Equipment.
I have a feeling this Spanish vase overflowing with ripe fruit in my kitchen may be the source of my newfound craving.
How amazing is this colorful fruit manicure? Created using fruit slices like these and applied with tweezers and a little top coat.
Happy hump day! xx
