Bejeweled Shoulders

Growing up in California and especially in L.A., denim has always been a staple in my wardrobe. Even though I adore dresses, there’s something so cool about a dressed up denim look. I tend to stick to dark plain denim in flattering skinny or flared cuts. Paired with a nice T-shirt or blouse, heels and a leather jacket and I feel like I can go to almost any restaurant or bar without being over or under dressed.

This lightweight knit top caught my eye with its unusual texture and color and bedazzled shoulders. I have worn it constantly since I got it in New York a few weeks ago. May actually be time to put it in a short-term retirement…

On a completely different note, my thoughts are with those effected by the horrifying tragedy in Boston yesterday. It was a sobering, scary and immensely sad day. It’s time’s like these when support of any kind is needed most. Here is information about how you can help victims and their families.

Jeans: Banana Republic, rhinestone top: H&M, wedges: Marni, belt: Asos, clutch: American Apparel.

Beauty note: eyelashes c/o Boudoir. I finally gave in to trying semi permanent fake eyelashes and I’m happy I did. They are amazing particularly for a special event (perfect for someone who is getting married). I have a discount for readers in the L.A. area if interested.

Flirty Romper

Life has been crazy busy lately both professionally and personally. I was tired of feeling stressed and sat down to make a to-do list to get all the tasks floating around in my head down on paper. I easily filled up two full pages in my notebook, but felt relieved almost instantly, no longer needing to worry about remembering the list. Many of the tasks are good things, so I can’t totally complain. Lots of exciting projects to come – but ones that require work nonetheless.

With so much going on during the week, I can’t help but want to take it easy and be casual on the weekends. This romper was the result of feeling lazy and wanting to be comfortable.

I am so looking forward to warm weather starting tomorrow, a low-key Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and a holiday weekend.

Jumper: Free People, wedges: Marni, bag: Rebecca Minkoff.

Hawaii Packing

packing list

I am on a plane to the Big Island for a real, week-long vacation! I waited until the last moment possible to pack (I hate packing for a trip) and just finished this morning. I threw in my last few essentials, hurriedly zipped up my suitcase (while sitting on it to keep it closed) and ran out the door to catch our ride. Luckily, I had my trusty packing list, categorized by electronics, accessories, clothing, beauty and miscellaneous, to make sure I wouldn’t forget anything.

Rebecca Minkoff and sun hats

Sun hats and a simple crossbody bag for running around during the day.

printed bikinis

Packing for a warm, beach-y locale means lots of bikinis. I’m excited to wear these printed ones.

ombre shorts outfit forever 21

I can’t wait to wear this ombre outfit with my Hawaiian flower hair pin that I picked up on our last trip two years ago.

sandals metallic sandals

A plethora of flat sandals with unique details that are ideal for both casual days at the beach and fancy resort dinners at night.

flowy strapless dresses hawaii packing

Flowy, strapless dresses ideal for going from day to night during our Hawaii trip.

I will be posting while I am away, but for more current updates, follow me on Instagram and Twitter.
