This past week and weekend were great. My boyfriend and I went out with friends that were here for the summer and are leaving to go back to grad school. We went for dinner, drinks and dancing (The Roof on Wilshire is lovely). We hosted a game night. It sort of felt like the end of summer.
Even though the really hot temperatures just started here in L.A., it seems like the season is coming to an end with school back in session and Labor Day just around the corner. I planned a few end of summer trips for next week to visit the Bay Area and one of our favorites, the Santa Barbara wine country. I’m looking forward to seeing friends and family in San Francisco and relaxing in Santa Barbara, while escaping to cooler temperatures.
I am a publicist and I’m often having to go from the office to a swanky night event with no time in between. I wore this outfit last week and again this weekend. It is dressy, comfortable and ideal for both work meetings or brunch with friends.
These pointy ankle strap flats make the dress daytime appropriate for running around while still looking sophisticated. I wore bold, but simple jewelry, light makeup and carried a casual, roomy clutch bag. This dress was easy to remix (also here with casual summer accessories) with a few touch ups at my desk for a night event. I’ll share what I wore at night later this week.
Dress: H&M, flats: Aldo, necklace and belt: F21, clutch: American Apparel, bracelets: Jessica Elliot (rope and single stone bangles), J.Crew (turquoise crystal) Sheila Fajl (thin bangles), rings: Gorjana and Ariel Gordon.

Love those shoes! What a great neutral flat, but the ankle strap makes them a little more special. The dress isn’t too shabby either
