It was so hot this weekend that I didn’t mind staying in my air conditioned apartment during the afternoon to catch up on some work while watching TV. Sex and the City reruns get me every time.
On Saturday, my boyfriend and I went to a friend’s birthday party (happy birthday Em!), which was so much fun. The birthday girl had everyone over for h’orderves (caprese breads and a cheese plate with olives and fruit were a hit), dinner (roast) and yummy drinks (greyhounds with grapefruit juice and fresh mint). After good conversation and food, we went out dancing until it was time to go home. The best part was that the birthday girl seemed like she was having a blast.
I wore this to our typical Sunday night sushi dinner. I’ve also been wearing some variation of this outfit to work at least once a week. The chambray dress is lightweight, comfortable and it goes with everything. I can throw it on, slip on almost any pair of shoes – dressy or casual, add a few accessories and run out the door.
Chambray dress: bought from unknown boutique on Larchmont (similar here and here), blush blazer: H&M, striped wedges: J.Crew, rhinestone collar necklace: F21, coin purse: Coach, watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, beaded cuff: gift/unknown, rings: Suzanne Felsen (three stone), street fair (spoon).
Beauty note: when my hair is particularly wild and I want to get it out of my face, a part down the middle and two bobby pins do the trick. I’ve been on a colored eyeliner kick lately. I’m wearing this blue here. Purple and blue shades are my favorites. It’s amazing what a difference color, instead of black around the eyes makes.

You look pretty with your outfit. The collar looks perfect. We love it!
Much love from the SABO SKIRT girls!
