Lately, I’ve made an effort to keep my calendar open for relaxing, watching Olympics and catching up on sleep. I did just that this weekend, but a few nighttime events still managed to sneak in. I had a night out with friends by The Roosevelt pool, went to an Annenberg Space for Photography/KCRW concert in honor of the photography gallery’s latest exhibit Who Shot Rock & Roll and had a delicious meal downtown at Drago Centro last night.
I wore this out to dinner, and am wearing it again to work today (muted kitten heels in lieu of the red, patent pumps). I can’t seem to get enough of sheer fabrics and neutral colors, especially soft shades in the nude/blush/peach family. The light fabrics and colors feel summer-y and are comfortable in ridiculously warm L.A. weather.
Sheer tunic (similar here and here) and maroon heels: Nordstrom, ribbed pencil skirt: American Apparel, beaded clutch: vintage, earrings: unknown, bracelets: Jessica Elliot (single stone and rope bangles), Sheila Fajl (thin bangles), Banana Republic (green gemstone).
Beauty note: deep ruby lips match the ruby shoes.

Love that lip color, I’ve been wanting to try it for fall but am a) nervous and b) haven’t been able to find the right burgundy. You look great!

Thanks Taylor! I’ve found burgundy/deep red shades to be surprisingly flattering! You have to give the color a try – start with an inexpensive drugstore brand to find what you like. xx
Really pretty style …
