Fab Friday: Contemporary Brownstone

I saw Christina Azario’s home in Elle Decor some time ago and I could not get over it. Azario is a luxury linens designer with an eye for glamor (see gorgeous pillows below). I love the home’s flawless mix of old and new – traditional brownstone and contemporary prefab. The East Harlem space was renovated and the entire back wall was changed to glass (all but the original facade had already been destroyed so there was nothing to lose). The glass back wall gives the notoriously dark brownstone a light, loft-like feel. Photographed by Bjorn Wallander.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend! I’m off to Santa Barbara! xx

Currently Craving: Camel and Black Outerwear and Accessories

I love classic color combinations of black and white or black and gold. With fall just around the corner, I am pairing black with warmer, more muted hues of camel and tan instead of stark white or glitzy gold.  I’m slowly transitioning my work wardrobe for fall and I’m on the lookout for outerwear and accessories that would go well with separates like these Americana-inspired pieces.

Ring: F21, striped scarf: Banana Republic, rhinestone pyramid studs: F21, faux leather and canvas trench: Bebe, messenger bag: Cambridge Satchel, blazer: H&M, leopard flats: Zara, heels: C-Label, sweater: J.Crew.

I think my recent infatuation with black and tan was brought on by a few pinterest images like these. How insane are the bow Chanel shoes (with leopard jeans)? And, this tweed peplum coat?

Nighttime: Mint Party Dress

I am in the Bay Area this weekend visiting friends and family. Every time I come back to where I grew up I remember how much I love this place.  The weather has been gorgeous, the food delicious and the company is amazing (lots of life long friends that I don’t get to see as often as I’d like). I am happy to be here all week before heading back to L.A. for a trip with the boyfriend to Santa Barbara wine country.

I wore this dress during the day here and changed it up for a nighttime work event later that day. I switched from flats to heels, swapped a plain leather clutch for a glitter one, added some chunky jewelry (cluster studs and a few more bracelets) and a punch of bright poppy colored lipstick.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! xx

Dress and clutch: H&M, heels: Zara, belt and necklace: F21, leather jacket: Nordstrom, studs: H&M, lipstick: MAC, bracelets: Asos (link), Jessica Elliot (chain and stone bangle) and Sheila Fajl (thin bangle).
