Plaid and Purple-y Blue

I did pretty close to nothing this weekend. My boyfriend and I house sat in the Hollywood Hills. We spent the weekend enjoying the pool, gorgeous weather and beautiful views. We watched some of the Olympics and Breaking Bad (totally hooked). It was beyond relaxing.

I love how simply a dress can be transformed not only with accessories (as demonstrated here), but also with a shirt or sweater over top. I threw this plaid, button down blouse with ruffle sleeves over my basic dress to transform it into a skirt for brunch on Sunset Boulevard.

Dress and blouse: Nordstrom, wedges: Zara, belt: H&M, beaded clutch: vintage, bracelets: Asos (link), Sheila Fajl (thin bangles), Jessica Elliott (wood and rope bangle), studs: vintage.

Beauty note: I created a smokey eye with plum eyeliner and paired it with pale pink lipstick. I am in desperate need of a hair cut, so I pulled my hair back. I started with a half ponytail and then split the remaining hair into two more ponytails.

A New Look

Happy Friday! As you may have already seen, though young, The Autumn Issue was in need of a face lift. After a few nips and tucks (there may be a few more), this is the new look! A big thank you to Danielle and Michael for their hard work!!

What do you guys think?

One of Those Days

You know those special days where you have an extra pep in your new shoe step? The days where you think, I really got it right today. It’s amazing how much of an effect clothes can have on my confidence (ideal for a day of  back-to-back meetings). I’m having one of those days thanks to a few sale purchases from J.Crew (sweater and shoes) and an oldie, but goodie from Nordstrom (denim skirt). What’s better than a new pair of (striped, ankle tie wedge) shoes and (slinky peach) a sweater?

An antique ring from my grandmother is just enough bling for an otherwise preppy look.

I don’t normally post Instagram photos on here, but today started off on an exceptional note. For more outfits of the day and other snapshots, follow me here. Happy hump day! xx
