Python and Preppy Peplum

I’ve worn some variation of this outfit over and over for the past three weeks. I love that it is preppy and feminine, but also has a bit of edge. The printed jeans and peplum top easily transition from day to night – heels instead of ballet flats, leather jacket instead of a cardigan. I’ve worn the two pieces separately with dozens of different combos. When I find something that works, I wear it to death (exhibit A). If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Voilà my new hair. It’s an update on the ombre look and I adore it. I finally found an amazing salon and stylist (that doesn’t charge a fortune) here in L.A. Feel free to email me or comment below if you are looking for a place and live in the area or if you want info on the technique they used to lighten my hair.

With a busy few weeks coming up, including a trip to San Francisco next weekend, I focused on getting some rest and relaxing this weekend. Sleeping in, eating good food and reading/watching tv was priority. I still managed to be productive, getting some errands out of the way and finishing my taxes. It’s such a relief to have my taxes done. We had some friends over last night to watch the premiere of Game of Thrones (with king’s crowns and goblets of mulled wine of course) and Mad Men. It was a lovely way to end a weekend that felt too short.

Peplum top, python jeans and cardigan: H&M, heels: Gucci, clutch: vintage Chanel, belt: F21, bracelets: vintage (triple strand), leather and gold bracelet purchased in Italy years ago, Sheila Fajl (bangles), ring: Suzanne Felsen.

Love the hair Karissa! You look stunning!

  2. You totally rocked those pants. Usually I would look at them and think I wouldn’t wear that, but you make them look uh-mazing!

Love your blog, would love to know where you had your hair done. I just moved to West LA and am in need of a new hair stylist :) . Thanks!

    • Hi Rosa, how exciting! I got my hair done in Echo Park, which is a little bit of a trek from West L.A., but they are amazing. The salon is called Beauty Box and Dina is my stylist. Please let me know if you go and let them know I sent you! Thanks for reading. xx
