I can’t believe it. There is almost no color in this post. Somehow, the gowns that stood out the most for me from last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards were black and white. The details and cuts of the gowns kept them from being anything but boring, despite no color. It was hard to pick only five, but here are my favorites:

Emilia Clarke looked stunning in Chanel Couture. I had no idea who this was until I did a little digging. She is the actress on Game of Thrones who was formerly platinum blonde.

Yes, I have a girl crush, but how can I not? Zoe Saldana was beautiful in Givenchy Couture.

Emma Stone looked age-appropriate and chic in Alexander McQueen. The clutch and shoes perfectly complimented the dress.

I adore Rose Bryne and she pulled off this gusty Elie Saab jumpsuit flawlessly.

I love the sequins and open, lace back of Jayma Mays’ Reem Acra gown.
Yes, I know this is number six (I had a tough time cutting the list off at five).

Octavia Spencer gets the runner-up spot. She glowed from head to toe. Her hairstyle, makeup, accessories and flattering dress were smart choices.
There were some great colored gowns last night that deserve honorable mention: Michelle Williams in red Valentino (pictured below), Natalie Portman in chocolate-y eggplant Giambattista Valli Couture, Emily Blunt in green Oscar de la Renta, Dianna Agron in fuchsia Carolina Herrera and Kyra Sedgwick in red Pucci (she looks incredible for her age).

I like how fresh Michelle Williams’ Valentino dress feels, but I wish there was something like more to it, like a gold belt to punch it up a bit.
What did you think of last night’s red carpet looks? Any favorites?

My favorite was Regina King. She looked fabulous!!
The givenchy gress was by far, the best dress on the carpet <3
