Lovely Places, Spaces and Things

A few photos helping me get through the post-holiday week.

I love succulents. Maybe it’s because they are the only plants I can’t seem to kill after two days, either way this is a beautiful wreath. It was created for the Loeffler Randall x Flower Girl (top NYC florist) collaboration. You can find the full step by step to create it here.

This bathroom is a dream. I just want to sink right into that tub.

Ashinoko Lake in Honshu, Japan. Gorgeous.

Glitter covered fake fruit. Inexpensive and easy-to-create holiday decor that looks divine.

Unexpected makeup combo of yellow + red. I like playing with a standout lip or eye color that either matches or compliments a top or nails as well. Wine colored lips with a gold top is one I’ve been trying lately.

Seeing Stripes

I can’t seem to get enough of stripes lately! I love the preppy, nautical feel of them. I wore this for a night out with friends during the holiday weekend. While the more stripes the better, I try to stick to more subtle, neutral colors like in this top (black and taupe). Too many stripes in bright colors starts to look busy. I also avoid horizontal stripes on bottom. They make me look wider, a thing I can definitely do without. Despite a few nos, stripes are a definite yes in my book!

Top: Gap, lace skirt: Aqua/Bloomingdale’s, sweater: unknown (I think BB Dakota), shoes: Steve Madden, necklace: gift, bag: vintage, belt: Forever 21, rings: XIV Karats and family heirloom, nails: Nicole by OPI Follow Me on Glitter

Small (Holiday) Wonders

On this special day, I am reminded of the things that are important in life, the things that I am most grateful and appreciative of.  I am thankful for having such a wonderful family and friends, who when hearing me talk about starting a blog for years, listened. It is because of their support that I finally have a now one month old site (yay!).

Here are a few things that I am thankful for right now…

Gingerbread cooking making with my sister.

Yellow tulips in a vintage milk bottle and acorn squash for our Thanksgiving table centerpiece.

My sister and I spotted our new stockings that perfectly suite each of our styles. Good work Santa!

To all my readers, I am thankful for you as well!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. What are you thankful for this season?
